Technical Audio Intern

Job Summary:

We are looking for a driven candidate to join our audio team for a paid full-time, 6 month internship*. As an intern you will work closely with our senior technical audio and engineering staff and our directors, to work on the production of creative assets, the implementation of these assets for various projects, and to contribute creative and technical audio work on the various video game and industry projects we are working on.  

You will have a chance to see what it's like to work with a highly skilled AAA team, and what it’s like developing and working on internal IP development as well.  You will assist all members of our team in various aspects of our daily work.  This will give you very broad hands-on experience within all facets of game audio production for both AAA and independent projects of various sizes, budgets and timelines.  You will build effective communication skills, optimize your technical proficiency, be introduced to cutting edge game dev technologies, and will develop upward management skills all with the goal of meeting our professional standards.

As an Interleave intern, you will be a contributing member of our team and will have the opportunity to fully participate in our business. Join us for an immersive summer and fall with hands-on experience at a leading creative collective.

This position is remote, requires a well maintained media-capable computer and a high speed internet connection.

To qualify for this role, you must...

  • Be a post-secondary graduate with a Diploma or equivalent in Video Game Audio or Media Audio Design

  • Be unemployed, part-time employed or underemployed (you are working below your training level)

  • Be 15-30 years old

  • Have experience with Unreal Engine 4/Unity game engines

  • Have experience with Wwise audio middleware

  • Have experience with DAWs (Reaper, ProTools, etc.)

  • Have experience with debugging, troubleshooting, Q/A

  • Have video game playing experience

  • Have excellent communication skills

  • Have basic experience with designing dynamic audio systems

  • Have solid knowledge of and experience with music assisting tasks (editing, midi notation, transcription, stemming, remixing)

  • Have some experience assisting in audio and music project management tasks

  • Have experience with music notation software (Sibelius, Dorico, etc.)
